Who doesn’t want to be well fed?

My very first guest has taken that question and luckily answered it for all of us, creating a phenomenon along the way.

Melissa Joulwan, author of the the Well Fed cookbook series, has had quite the unlikely path from the corporate world to the creator of her own mega-successful website, The Clothes Make the Girl, a paleo classic, stuffed to the gills with delicious recipes and captivating stories that draw you in.

In this episode of Harder to Kill Radio, Mel and I chat about how she got roped into roller derby, how an unlikely blog idea blossomed into a business, and her paradoxical idea of what it takes to become unbreakable. Not only is Mel a colleague and someone I greatly admire for always sticking to her guns and marching to the beat of her own drum, she’s a wonderful friend. I’m thrilled she’s here as my first guest.

    1. Loved this episode! New to paleo and started following you and Mel and many more! Love the ideas and encouragement you all give. This is another great tool for everyone in the Paleo world. Loved it! Keep up the good work. Hope to listen to many more episodes!

    2. What a great podcast! You know, I’ve done Whole30 twice (and little mini-resets as well), and while 85%-ish of my weekly diet is now like Melissa described, I still find myself feeling guilty about that small square of dark chocolate, or obsessing about the fat on my stomach.

I have to keep reminding myself that my body is strong and healthy, and I can do things now that I could never do before. And that’s because I exercise regularly and eat in a way that makes me feel good (most of the time!).

      1. Hi Barb! Awwww thanks 🙂 That’s really sweet of you. Mel’s been someone I’ve always looked up to in this community so it’s fitting she was my first guest. I’m glad you liked it!

    3. Thanks for the awesome podcast. I appreciate the “not so” technical conversations and the common sense approach to nutrition and fitness.

      1. Hi Christine! Wow thank you for that feedback 🙂 Expect much more like what you heard today. I appreciate you tuning in!

    4. After the women’s strength summit I had to restart listening to your harder to kill radio!
Especially since I now know there are YouTube vids. I remember loving this interview the first time I heard it.
And I get reminded of things I want to investigate and research. Plus all the links that I had forgotten to check out!
      Thanks so much!

      1. Hi Suzette! Wow I’m so chuffed to hear that you’re finding value in the podcast the second time around 🙂 Thanks for being so awesome!
